NorCal MMA’s 2018 Year End Nominees

At this time last year, I was busy pounding away at the keyboard (I guess some things are still the same), inputing up-to-date information and creating as much content as possible for my NorCal MMA site, norcalmixedmartialarts.com, and its corresponding social medias, found @norcalfightmma. Over the course of 2018, the talent enveloped within Northern California’s borders, as I’d become familiar with in the past couple years, never ceased to amaze me; however, my desire to provide coverage throughout the region was down for the count—outlined in detail in a previous blog: 54 Reasons Why MMA Media Isn’t for Me (link here)—shortly before 2019’s ball dropped.

To close 2017, I awarded some mixed martial artists and promoters a plaque after being voted by NorCal’s MMA community for a particular category; categories included: Fight of the Year, Submission of the Year, Knockout of the Year, Amateur Promotion of the Year, and Professional Promotion of the Year. Since I had spent the bulk of 2018 scouring the scene for amateur and professional scraps, I’d still like to spotlight several gems from the past twelve months.

Though many of the categories remain the same on this year’s ballot, I’ve made a few adjustments. The 2018 NorCal MMA awards will feature: Fight of the Year, KO of the Year, Submission of the Year, Promotion of the Year, Ring Announcer of the Year, and Photographer of the Year.

Here is how it works:

Under each category, there is a link that directs you to punch the digital chads of your choice. Follow the link. Vote for your favorite. It’s really that easy!

On January 20, 2019, I will reveal the winners during a live episode of my podcast, Check-In with @DaveMMAdden, which streams on both my Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Now, go vote!
