“What about a staycation?”

“That’s probably the worst idea I’ve ever heard.”

It wasn’t the first time my wife had told me such a thing, nor would it be the last.

“Look, I’m just burned out on spending the summer at our usual spots because we’ve already done all that is offered at those places.”

“Let’s just open a map of California, I’ll close my eyes, and we’ll go where it lands…Eureka!”

“Great! Now we need to book a hotel, a rental car, and plan what to do there.”

“Maybe a staycation isn’t such a bad idea after all.”
